Recommended Podcasts

I am an addict. I am addicted to podcasts.

Recommended PodcastsI currently have 110 podcasts that I am subscribed to in iCatcher. I listen to all different genres of podcasts. I listen to podcasts about fiction, business, Christianity, sermons, mysteries, board games, cooking, family, history, technology, travel, and education.

Before you have a stroke trying to figure out how in the world any human can listen to that many podcasts without a time machine, let me explain how I listen.

How I listen to so many podcasts

Recommended PodcastsFirst, I don’t listen to every single episode of every single podcast I am subscribed to. There are several that I love but due to time constraints, I choose to only listen to the ones discussing topics that I am interested in. There are some that I do listen to every single episode, but most of those are the shorter (<30 mins) podcasts and the fiction ones that I listen to at my leisure.

Second, I listen while doing things that I really don’t have to concentrate on. For example, doing housework, cooking dinner, driving, getting ready in the morning, walking, website maintenance, creating images to go along with the blogs I write, editing videos, in evenings when I don’t feel like reading or watching TV, etc…

Third, I listen to most of them sped up a bit. Most of them I listen to at 1.25 speed.

My list of recommended podcasts

I get asked very often for recommendations for podcasts to listen to so I decided to create a list here of my favorite Christian podcasts.

There are a couple that I have just started listening to that I do not feel I have enough info yet as to whether I can recommend them or not, so I did not include them here.

Keep in mind that while I enjoy and recommend these podcasts, I do not agree with any of them 100% of the time. To be honest, I don’t think there is anyone on planet earth I do agree with 100% of the time. However, I can say that as far as I have known and listened to these men and women, I have not heard any direct heresy or dangerous false teaching taught or promoted by them. They are all very serious and devoted Christians who desire to live holy lives, see the lost saved, and rely on the Bible as the inerrant, infallible, all-sufficient Word of God.

The table above is editable so it is likely to change over time as I learn of new podcasts and add them to this list. Being an addict, I am always looking for new podcasts. If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them.

Doctrine and Devotion is one I’ve recently picked up and am enjoying. Joe Thorn and Jimmy Fowler. I also like Wretched Radio. My husband LOVES Todd Friel of Wretched. Rick Thomas’ Life Over Coffee is good.

    • I use to listen to Doctrine and Devotion and should have included it in this list. It is a great one but one that I ended up nixing from my list to check out others…only so much time in a day. LOL Thanks for reminding me of this one and Wretched. Again, not sure why I forgot to included Wretched. LOL I’ll also check out Live Over Coffee. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Of course that would be “Ask the beauty advisor”

  • I added Doctrine and Devotion, Theocast, Christ the Center, and Jen Wilkin’s podcasts to my list. I’m not really sure why I didn’t have those on my list. LOL I will check out Theology Simply Profound. Thanks for the suggestions. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • My favorite are Reality San Francisco and Reality Los Angeles – great messages! YOU are AMAZING! I’ll definitely check out the minute ones by RC! Thanks for the list.

  • Nancy Whiting

A few of my favorites are Stand Up for the Truth, The Superior Word, Crosstalk, and the sermon podcast from Grace Bible Church in Bozeman, Montana.

    • I use to listen to Stand Up for the Truth. I need to check it out again along with these others. Thanks for the recommendations. ๐Ÿ˜€

Ok whew, As I began reading, I thought how in the world does she listen to so many podcasts each week, and wow she subscribes to so many. LOL I was much relieved to soon after that opening statement read that you don’t listen to every single one each week. I am pinning your post so I can come back and broaden my horizon with some new podcast material to listen too.

Also, I am so honored you linked-up with #TuneInThursday this week, and I look forward to have you do so in the future.

    • I have actually added more since this post that I am reviewing based on recommendations made due to this post. I also forgot to mention that several of them don’t post each week either. Several I listen to only post once every other week or even less frequently. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I love your suggestion of listening at 1.25 speed. I also listen to several podcasts, and like you, skip the episodes that don’t relate to areas I’m studying currently. We are so blessed to have access to great information.

  • Stories of Our Boys

Pinned!! This will come in handy!! I’m always having trouble figuring out who does good podcasts.

  • Liz

WOW! That is quite the list! I love your tip for listening to them on fast forward! I did that with a video training a couple weeks ago and it was a life saver! I’ll have to check some of these out. Blessings!

  • Kristina Rees

I’m always looking for a good podcast. Thanks for the list.

  • Nicki

I really enjoyed this post as I listen to podcasts often. I also wonder if there is something else “good” to listen to…thank you for broadening my horizons ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I didn’t know Jen Wilkin had a podcast! Thanks for sharing, I’ll check it out.

    • It isn’t what I would call a traditional podcast. It is recordings of her teachings of her Bible studies that she has uploaded. It is still great, though. I am leading our women’s ministry at church through her James study and already I am loving it and her teachings. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for sharing with us at Funtastic Friday!

  • I am not a big podcast person, mostly because I crave silence when I’m not listening to one or more of my five kids! I am currently only subcribed to three that I love, but I don’t even manage to keep up on those very well. ๐Ÿ™ They are Morning Prayer from the Episcopal Church in Garrett County – I love starting my day with this one when I get the chance!, Torah Class – I love getting the Hebrew perspective on the Bible!, and Trim Healthy Podcast with Serene and Pearl because I just love them! I don’t know if she’s still publishing them, but I have a lot of downloaded episodes from Audiobooks with Annie that my kids still listen to. We also love Kayray Reads to You.

Thanks so much for sharing this at Booknificent Thursday on!
